From Jack Harris: There has been a lot of speculation surrounding some people in the Dodgers organization in recent times, a theory about their Southern California rivals that arose two Octobers ago and highlighted in this year’s hotly contested division race.
When the Dodgers play the San Diego Padres, they seem to get the best of the Padres.
And when the competition rises, the Padres’ power tends to rise.
That was especially true in the 2022 playoffs, when the underdog Padres stormed to a four-game National League Division Series victory over the 111-win juggernaut Dodgers.

And it has been clear so far this season, one in which the Padres have taken seven of 10 games and dropped a nine-game streak for the Dodgers to just three going into the week of end of time.

From Gary Klein: Sean McVay dared.
After receiving some bad news about player injuries after the first two games of the season, the Rams coach took to the clubhouse Monday with confidence but also caution.
On Sunday, immediately after the Rams’ 27-24 victory against the San Francisco 49ers, the team’s medical staff indicated that the players were not seriously injured. Yet McVay, perhaps surprised in the last few weeks, has been bracing himself for a possible change.
“If you’re asking if that’s something I’ve been breathing,” McVay said during a video interview with reporters, “hey, hell.”
In fact, no news was completely accepted for McVay, who said that Reggie Scott, the Rams’ vice president of sports medicine and performance, confirmed the first report of the game.
